greenSand Semi-paving Gradation 0-6mm

A climate-resistant semi-paving

The greenSand semi-paving of 0-6 mm is the only semi-pavement in the Netherlands that removes CO₂. The semi-pavement is made of olivine-rich rock and is registered in the National Environmental Database . The rock has a gray-green color and permanently removes CO₂ through weathering. Thanks to the high hook resistance and water permeability, you can create paths that are wheelchair accessible and prevent unwanted water puddles.

sustainable and climate resistant

Maintenance friendly

Due to the natural reaction of the olivine-rich rock with rainwater, it deacidifies the soil and inhibits the growth of algae and weeds. As a result, the semi-pavement retains its original color, unlike other semi-pavements that turn green over time.

greenSand semi-hardening 0-6mm is suitable for:

Cycling and hiking trails

Create a nice stable layer that is permeable to water and wheelchair accessible.

Frequently Asked Questions

What layer thickness do I need?

The layer thickness depends on the substrate. In general we recommend a layer thickness between 10-12 cm. After rolling, a layer of 6-7 cm remains. You will have to lay thicker on a softer surface than on a harder surface. It is also possible to first place a mixed granulate under the semi-paving.

How high are the shipping costs?

The shipping costs differ per purchase and are automatically calculated based on the weight during the checkout process. For large projects you can always request a quote using the form below.

What do you mean by low maintenance?

Due to the natural reaction of Olivine with rainwater, the soil is deacidified. This prevents the growth of algae, which means less maintenance compared to other handier semi-pavings.

How much CO₂ do I clean up?

The greatest profit is achieved by using greenSand as an alternative. When using other types of crusher sand, no CO₂ is removed and there are only CO₂ emissions. On average, there is a CO₂ absorption of 1 kg on 1 kg of greenSand Olivine. The actual absorption capacity depends, among other things, on the chemical composition of the rock and is different for each quarry.

What makes the semi-paving permeable to water?

In the Netherlands we have been suffering from heavy rain showers lately. Our semi-paved surfaces have an angular structure that makes them very permeable to water. In addition, this also ensures good hook resistance. This makes the greenSand semi-paving an ideal solution for bicycle and walking paths without puddles.

Every kilo of greenSand removes an average of 1 kilo of CO₂

The mineral Olivine weathers (rusts) with the CO₂ in the rainwater. It has been proven in the lab that 1 kg of greenSand Olivine captures an average of 1 kg of CO₂. However, we are convinced that in real nature things happen even faster. By using greenSand Olivine as a replacement in as many applications as possible worldwide, we can permanently capture a large part of the CO₂ surplus in a natural way. Will you also contribute?
