Water
Water causes the olivine to react with the CO₂.
This happens in a chemical process that is called rock weathering in science. You can compare it to the rusting of iron. The CO₂ is permanently fixed during this process.
We help the earth remove CO₂
In order to achieve climate neutrality in 2050, it is necessary to remove greenhouse gases in addition to reducing emissions. So far, CO₂ (carbon dioxide) is the only greenhouse gas that can be removed from the atmosphere.
Since 2008, greenSand has been working to increase the capacity of natural rock weathering and accelerate the absorption of CO₂.
By crushing rocks rich in olivine and using them instead of other rocks, we help the Earth to remove CO₂ from the atmosphere faster.
Everyone can contribute.
