Scale-Up Future-Proof Artificial Grass Fields

greenSand attended a matchmaking event on October 10 as part of the Scale-Up project. This project, which was initiated by the municipalities of Amsterdam and Haarlem with the aim of setting up the renovation of existing and construction of new artificial grass sports fields as ecologically as possible. The event, which took place in the Johan Cruijff Arena, linked a variety of disciplines to create collaborations through “speed dating”.

The intention of the event is to bring companies together to find the best solutions for, for example: fully recyclable artificial grass, hockey fields without water or a closed irrigation system and reducing the CO2 and nitrogen footprint. You can even go a step further by using greenSand infill sand, because the olivine-rich sand captures CO2.

It is expected that a number of test fields will start in mid-March 2024.
